Our mission
Make agentic AI deployable with control.
We help regulated organisations define agent authority, connect it to working controls, prepare for disruption and evidence oversight.
Firms can delegate tasks to agents. They cannot delegate accountability.

From delegated authority to evidence of oversight.
Our point of view
Govern authority, not just models.
Model evaluation remains important. But an agent that can use tools and take action also needs explicit boundaries for what it can access and do.
Those boundaries must connect to technical controls at runtime, with evidence of how the controls worked as the system operated.
Our market
UK-regulated financial services
High-consequence workflows demand clear control, with accountability resting on named people—not the system.
Over time, the same need may apply in other high-consequence sectors.
What we believe
Core values for AI that acts.
Authority is explicit.
Every material agent needs a defined mandate, scope and accountable owner.
Policy connects to operational controls.
Requirements must reach the identity, access and workflow controls used in practice.
Resilience is tested.
Pause, recovery and manual fallback procedures should be exercised before they are needed.
Evidence is captured in operation.
Keep a record of what was authorised, what happened and how exceptions were handled.
Control enables responsible innovation.
Clear boundaries make room to deploy useful AI where the consequences matter.
From the founder
“AI changes the speed of work. It does not change who is accountable.”
I have spent my career in heavily regulated financial-services environments, where accountability matters long before a regulator arrives. I saw responsibility fragment as systems changed, while the evidence needed to explain a decision sat in disconnected places.
Agentic AI accelerates that problem. I founded BuildMoat to help organisations set clear authority before deployment, evidence safeguards in operation and maintain a defensible record of oversight.
